Henrietta's Handbags
Coach handbags got it’s start when it’s founder noticed how distinctive the leather used in baseball gloves was and how well it lasted in spite of rough handling. So began Coach handbags in 1941 with their first refined leather bags, built to stand the test of time.
Six artists began Coach in a loft in Manhattan, New York and the company has since stayed in New York in a larger location to allow for it’s expansion. Only the top 10% of quality leather is chosen to become a Coach handbag and the leather is slow cured in large drums with rotation for several days. The leather is enriched with natural treatments which produces a softening effect to bring out the individual grain of each piece of leather.
Strong revenue growth began with Coach’s sales growing from 12% in 2001 to 20% in 2002. Coach can only continue to grown in sales with it’s introduction of the new “Scribble" pattern, the “Scarf" pattern, and my personal favorite, the “Ladybug Applique" pattern. If you are looking for a timeless classic handbag or something new, just check out Coach handbags for the best of both worlds.

Not exactly. I want to see pictures of the very first Coach handbags that were available in 1941 and 50's.I would also like to see pictures of some of the very first bags and what did the tag look like in the beginning?
It is a little known fact, and should be mentioned also that Coach was for many years "made in the USA". The quality of Coach purchases was held to the highest standards. As with so many other companies though, the original owner sold the company at some point, and the new corp. found that they could make their purses for less if they were made overseas. I have a Coach purse purchased 18 years ago. Looks almost as good as they day I bought it. On it's inside pouch it very clearly in big, easy to read print that "This is a Coach Bag, it was handcrafted in the United States of completely natural glove-tanned cowhide. The variations on the grain are characteristic of natural full grain leather." Now check the inside label of your new Coach purse. For one thing the print is so small and printed to make it much more difficult to read. If I'm reading it correctly, because some words are hard to make out, it says "This is a Coach Bag. It was handcrafted in Vietnam from soft milled cowhide." I really can't read the rest. Gee I wonder why? We've been paying the same amount for these purses all these years without realizing, we're not getting the same produce that made these purses famous. We're paying for a label.Very well said.. I am 17 years old and receiving my first Coach bag for Christmas from my boyfriend. (New Chelsea Scarf Print Mini Shoulder Bag) and I told my boyfriend who's proud to be American and loves American made things that you could tell if a Coach was real because it will say made in the USA.. Sadly, that was the case 20 years ago apparently.. Now I guess you can tell if the C's aren't double lined? Anyways, I won't have to worry about that because he ordered it from the Coach website. :)
